The double-headed eagle is most commonly associated with the Byzantine Empire, the Holy Roman Empire and the Russian Empire. In Byzantine heraldry, the heads represent the dual sovereignty of the Emperor without Empress for total control and power both secular and religious and/or dominance of the Byzantine Emperors over both East and West. In the Holy Roman Empire’s heraldry, it represented the church and the state. The double-headed eagle was adopted by Ivan III after his marriage with the Byzantine princess Sophia Paleologo, whose uncle Constantine was the last Byzantine Emperor remains the most recognizable symbol of Orthodoxy and imperial state today. The title on a ring is engraved and states: “Ī Ī¹ĻĻĻĻ į¼Ī½ Ī§ĻĪ¹ĻĻįæ· Ī²Ī±ĻĪ¹Ī»ĪµĻĻ (ĪŗĪ±Ī¹) Ī±į½ĻĪæĪŗĻĪ¬ĻĻĻ Ī”ĻĪ¼Ī±ĪÆĻĪ½”. This Byzantine Empire title translates as “A Faithful (one) in Christ’s Kingdom (and) Roman Emperor.” Title had not only national but also a state significance for the byzantine state continued the Roman Empire state and thus believe to hold holy right to govern different nations.

Greek Meander Floral Embossed Ring with Lapis – Sterling Silver Yianni Jewelry
Ī¤his is an impressive oxidized ring made of sterling silver 925 and decorated with a lapis lazuli gemstone at the center. Īts large round surface in the shape of a dome has embossed designs. On the perimeter of the ring there is the design of the Meander, the most ancient Greek symbol, which is considered to be the symbol of Victory and Eternal Life. Embossed designs are also on the side of the ring.

This Ancient Greek coin illustrate Helios Sun God on the one side and the flower rhodon (rose), a symbol of Rhodes on the other. Inscription reads : āRHODIONā in Greek fonts. Helios,in Greek mythology, is the god and personification of the Sun, often depicted in art with a radiant crown and driving a horse-drawn chariot through the sky.
